Hello everyone,

I am sorry to hear the news about Mirye and Shade, but at the same time glad that us users of the English version still have support and will be able to update to new versions, even if it is through a different company.

But this post is about some more animations I made with Shade, just wanted to express my feelings on the news we received this week. Anyway, here are the videos:

First, this is the one of the ethanol facility, the final version as our client finally signed off the project:

And this one shows info about the company, with live video and also some parts of 3D animation:

This one is for a different client, it is still a work in progress as our customer still needs to send us some info for the final scene:

Hope you like them!

Diego

Very good Diego! Do you used also Shade for modeling the parts in the Apache video, or is this done with a NURBS modeler?

Best regards
Stefan

Hi Stefan, thanks!

I modeled everything in Shade from scratch, as the people from Apache didn't send me any source material besides the real product. It was quite difficult due to the shape of some parts, but Shade made my life easier on this point as curved surfaces were really easy to modify.

Best,

Diego

Hi Diego,

i can imagine that this was quite difficult to model this with Curved Surfaces, therefore my question. ;)

Hi Stefan,

Thanks, but unbelievably, it was easier than I initially thought. The black top cap was the most difficult section to model and add detail, as I started with a revolved section. But adding later those angles required only to add intermediate points that I moved to create the sharp angles. I later converted the Curved Surface to a mesh to add the holes via Booleans. Even after the booleans, the mesh came quite clean IMO.

I attached some screen captures to show how it looked as Curved Surface and later as a mesh.

Excellent Diego! It's a good idea imho that Shade has polygon modeling tools too, to finalize a design. Imagine we would only have Curved Surfaces (like Shade had in the first versions.) and had to produce a watertight mesh.

Best regards and keep up the good work!
