This is a set of frequently asked questions about Shade 8.5.1 Professional Edition and the special offer through 3D World Magazine.

General

What is the offer?

Issue #123 of 3D World Magazine includes a free copy of Shade 8.5.1 Professional Edition.

How long does it last?

One year from release date.

Is this exactly the same as the previously released versions of Shade 8.5.1 Professional Edition?

There have been a number of releases of the Shade 8.x series that included a lot of content. Most of that content is not included as it would not fit on the 3D World Magazine.

Is the special offer both for Windows and Mac OS X versions of Shade? Can I get both?

Yes and yes - you can have one copy of Shade 8.5.1 for Windows and one copy of Shade 8.5.1 for Mac.

Is there official support for Shade 8.5.1?

Yes and no. Shade 8.X was originally sold by E Frontier America and later Smith Micro. Mirye Software began official sales of Shade with Shade 9. Our technical experts are trained on Shade 9 and higher. Because Shade 8.x is a previous version, there will not be any additionally published patches or updates for it. But you can utilize the Shade forum on the official Shade support website.

Registration

I got a declined or failed notice on my registration. Why is that?

All fields must be filled out with accurate information. If it looks bogus, then it will be declined. After a decline, the order will be deleted.

I didn't get anything!

There are three reasons why you may not have gotten your registration:

• SPAM Filter. Some providers pick out our registration as spam. Check your spam filter - local or online
• Empty or Bogus Field. If the registration info isn't complete, or it has bogus information, it can be deleted without any warning
• Time. There is a minimum of two business days for registrations.

If you are certain you registered everything correctly and its well over the two business days, go to miryesoftware.ning.com, join the Shade Group and PM to chikako with your order number. For the free giveaways, do not use our support system.

I didn't get an order number!

When a registration or order of any kind is processed, a notice is sent back to your registered email. If you got one, then make sure you include the order number in any support request so we can look up your registration.

Do I have to use my full name?

Yes. Even if you go by the initialed version of your name, you need to fill out your full name.

How long does it take after registration?

The longer of 48 hours or two business days (meaning, don't count holidays or weekends in here).

How come I need to enter a credit card number?

If you filled in all the required fields and selected the right options, you will not be asked for a credit card to get the free giveaway. If you are asked for a credit card, and the giveaway is the only item in your basket, then you missed a field or option.

Upgrades

Can I upgrade from the free Shade 8.5.1 to Shade 9 (or higher)?

Yes, the giveaway is treated as an actual license. Each license is unique and tied directly to your user information.

Other Questions

Can I give a copy of the free version to a friend?

No! This is an actual license, and is subject to the End User License Agreement. Have you friend go buy the magazine and get his own copy.

Is there any commercial content for Shade 8.x?

Yes. The Shade Complete Collections all work with Shade 7 and later.
