What's New in 7.2.1
------------------------------------------
- PoserFusion compatible with Poser 6 now. Able to import Poser 4/5/6 pz3/pzz file.
Before import Poser 6 file, please make sure to change the Poser location and point to the installed directory of Poser 6.
Known Issues:
1. Switch off External Binary Morph Target support on the Misc tab of the General Preferences dialog (CTRL/CMD+K) before saving your PZ3/PZZ for PoserFusion.
2. Used an improved bending algorithm on some of Jessi's joints. Visual quality of bending might be affected since PoserFusion will fall back to an older algorithm.

Important Information
------------------------------------------
Please note:
- Please keep your product serial number in a safe place. It is needed in order to launch and register your software.
- In the Windows version, if there is only one Shade file open, closing it will exit the application. If there are multiple files open, closing any of them will not exit Shade, but merely close the file.
- Shade runs best with 32 bit true color graphics driver settings. If your driver doesn't support 32 bit, please use 24 bit true color instead.
- Shade's hardware accelerated preview runs best on recent NVIDIA and ATI graphics boards (NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200, GeForce FX 5600, GeForce FX 5800 or ATI RADEON 9000). In case you encounter any problems with the hardware acceleration, please switch off the acceleration component.
* Go to Edit menu > Preferences...
* On the Preferences dialog, select the OpenGL tab.
* Uncheck the Accelerator check box.
If upgrading to the newest driver version offered by the original manufacturer still does not solve the problem, set the hardware accelerator to [none] under graphics accelerator trouble shooting.
* Close Shade if it is running.
* Right-click on an empty area of the desktop, and select [Properties].
* Select the [Settings] tab from the display properties, and click on [Setting Details] (Windows XP) / [Details] (Windows 2000) in the bottom right corner.
* Select the [Trouble Shooting] tab from the window.
* Set the [Hardware accelerator] slider to [none].
* Click the Ok button to apply the settings.

About the Online Documentation
------------------------------------------
The online guides are Adobe Acrobat files, located in the "Documentation" folder in your Shade 7 installation. Open these documents with Adobe Reader. In Shade 7, to access the online guides, choose "Contents" from the Help menu. This will launch Adobe Reader, allowing you to browse the online documentation, such as the "Shade User Guide" or "Shade Beginner's Tutorial".
Your copy of Shade 7 includes the latest version of the program. Therefore, some descriptions in the online guide differ from the actual program specifications (e.g. parts of the Shade 7 Plug-in Manual).
------------------------------------------
Copyrighted files on the CD-ROM
------------------------------------------
The copyrights for the sample files included on the Shade 7 CD-ROM belong to the original authors of those files. They are included for personal use. Commercial use of the original or modified files, or using them in any media, is prohibited.
------------------------------------------
Poser integration with PoserFusion
------------------------------------------
Please take the following notes into account when working with the PoserFusion feature in Shade:
- If you use motion blur, for best results, check "Use Integer Frame Numbers". If you use BlurEffector, uncheck "Use Integer Frame Numbers".
* Go to Rendering menu > Render...
* On the Image window click on the Effects tab. From the Effector pulldown menu select BlurEffector.
* Go to View menu > Motion. Click on the Setting button and change the Steps to 0.2 in the Animation Settings palette.
- Hosting a Poser 5 scene with bump maps in Shade:
In Poser 5, if the bump image map is connected to the Gradient_Bump channel, the Bump map will not render correctly in Shade. To correct this, disconnect the Gradient_Bump and connect the image map to the Bump channel.

Miscellaneous
------------------------------------------
- Wavefront OBJ Export
When importing Wavefront OBJ files from Shade 7 into other 3D applications, e.g. Poser, you might notice that mirrored geometry gets reversed. There is a simple procedure in Shade to correct this issue:
* Open the .shd model in Shade 7
* Go to Rendering menu> Display Mode> Shading.
* Go to Rendering menu> Single-sided.
* Go to the Modify menu> Show Normals.
* Adjust the direction of the reversed faces of all objects by using the Flip Face checkbox in the Browser window.
- Pausing an animation in the current frame:
You will notice by default, the animation pause button in the Motion palette will go back to the last position of the scrubber on the timeline. If you playback an animation and want to pause on the current position of the scrubber you will need to uncheck "Restore the sequence cursor after playing".
* Go to View menu > Motion. Click on the Options button and uncheck "Restore the sequence cursor after playing".
- Web 3D: Viewpoint & Shockwave 3D
Shade 7 can create 3D interactive scenes that can be seamlessly integrated with web pages and viewed over the Internet using the Viewpoint Media Player plug-in for Internet Explorer, Netscape, AOL and CompuServe. You will need to obtain a broadcast key from Viewpoint in order to have your content viewable over the Internet without Viewpoint's "water mark" placed over your image. Broadcast keys are made freely available by Viewpoint for non-commercial uses and for many smaller scaled commercial uses as well. All use is subject to Viewpoint's license agreement. To acquire a valid broadcast key, visit the Viewpoint web site at http://www.viewpoint.com.
Viewpoint and Shockwave 3D export is supported by the Windows versions of Shade only.

Known Issues
------------------------------------------
Shade 7 professional only:
- Rendering animations in a network of rendering servers might fail if your Shade scene relies on plugins or the PoserFusion feature. In case you encounter this problem, please render the animation on your main computer. Curious Labs and e frontier are working towards a solution for this issue.
